Seeing the Voice

To commemorate the opening of the installation Graced with Light, the cellist and composer Joshua Roman performed three compositions beneath the canopy of blue ribbons. Patterson and Roman spent a week together beneath the vaulted arches of Grace Cathedral conceiving of their respective works. Hearing Roman’s long-held notes on the cello floating across the space provided much of the inspiration for the fiber art installation.
