Ribbon Sculptures
As seen in the solo show, Airidescence.
Patterson’s Ribbon Sculptures were inspired by the natural landscape of waterfalls found in the Palisades, where Patterson enjoys hiking. Tall, columnal cascades of fiber falling from different heights creates its own landscape and a sense of wonder.
“Airidescence, a combination of abstract watercolor paintings, hanging ribbon sculptures and wire installations, is Anne Patterson’s first Alfstad& Contemporary exhibition. The works transform the gallery into a multi-sensory realm where viewers experience Patterson’s integration of two worlds: art and music.”
