Bogardus Plaza

In the winter of 2018, Anne Patterson initiated a small but ambitious installation which brought light, love, and peace to the Tribeca neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. Having collected hundreds of Buddhist prayer flags during her travels in Nepal, Patterson created a sky-bound tapestry which responded to the organic architecture of the Bogardus Plaza, skillfully stringing bright strands between the natural posts of the garden’s trees. With the support from the Friends of Bogardus Plaza, this installation reinvigorated a corner which was then under construction, hoisting colorful messages of peace and love which twirled and waved at passersby.
