Shooting Star with Light
Building off of her Star Spinning Through Spring series, Shooting Star with Light combines the linearity depicted in Patterson’s large scale ribbon installations in a new medium and with a new function. The thin steel piano wire creates a kinetic element to the sculpture. As it plays with the light source, this fixture creates an impression of movement, a burst of light.
The piece measures 6ft x 7ft x 2 ft and was hand-crafted in our DUMBO studio out of piano wire and steel.
